Beers & Music of Belgium - Hartwin Dhoore & Odfried van Moeseke

This event will be in the Dugout room in the pub - down a couple of steps. 

Odfried van Moeseke & Hartwin Dhoore are childhood friends and grew up in the Flemish lowlands in Belgium. From a young age, they were introduced to the folklore traditions at annual celebrations such as May Day and Midwinter.

While playing music, dancing, and singing during these celebrations, there was never a shortage of excellent Belgian beer. As teenage boys, they would gather the beer glasses with leftovers from their fathers to finish them behind the barn where the party took place. Their passion and love for the drink and the brewing tradition were born.

Belgium has a long history of brewing craftsmanship and is home to some of the most legendary breweries in the world. The variety of beers is enormous, and the taste palette is wild! There is so much to discover and learn about the cultural heritage that Belgian beer brewing holds.

Join Odfried & Hartwin during this beer tasting and get introduced to the wonderland of Trappist, Geuze, Lambiek, and other unique beers that all have their own story. Discover where these beers come from and how they came into existence through storytelling intertwined with some musical intermezzos of traditional Flemish drinking songs, jokes, and maybe even a tune on the Flemish bagpipes.
