Travel, flying and the climate crisis (Cambridge)
Travel, flying and the climate crisis (Cambridge)
Need help?
Why should we fly less, and how can we do that?
This event explores the issues of flying in relation to the climate crisis and our carbon emissions, and looks at potential solutions. We will explore the climate impact of aviation and the many reasons to fly less, alongside giving information and inspiration for travelling without flying.
Our expert speakers will share their personal experiences of flight-free travel, as well as their expertise in climate activism and research.
On the line-up:
- Prof Julian Allwood, Professor of Engineering and the Environment at Cambridge University
- Ian Ralls, Friends of the Earth Cambridge
- Tom Bragg, Cambridge Carbon Footprint
- Anna Hughes, director of Flight Free UK
There will also be representatives of Kuoni Travel talking about their partnership with the 100% flight-free travel agent Byway Travel, and giving some practical information for flight-free holidays.
The speaker section will last for one hour, then there will be a short break before the panel session, which is a chance for our audience to ask questions.
Hot drinks and light refreshments will be available.
This is a hybrid event and will be viewable online.
