Destination: Long haul
Our ‘Destinations’ series has taken us to the hidden delights of Britain and to all four corners of Europe, but we’re now heading further afield and focussing on long haul journeys. Not everyone will have the chance to travel on a container ship or on the trans-Siberian railway in their life, so we speak to the people who have, so you can either live vicariously through them or start dreaming up your own flight-free long-haul odyssey.
The speaker line-up includes:
- the Simon family, who are currently on their way back from Australia overland
- Kate, who crossed the Atlantic by ship, then cycled the length of the Andes
- Fiona, who together with her sister, traversed the globe flight-free
- Graham, who has been to every country in the world without flying!
