Foundations of Classroom Management and Engagement with Teach Like a Champion Workshop

The Florida Charter Institute is excited to welcome back Doug Lemov and the Teach Like a Champion team for professional learning in summer 2026. Teach Like a Champion will offer two sessions across three workshop days running from Tuesday, July 28-Thursday, July 30. Participants can attend one or both sessions.

The first training is "Foundations of Classroom Management and Engagement" takes place on Tuesday, July 28. This practice-intensive workshop will focus on high-impact behavioral and engagement techniques that enable joy and academic achievement.

The session will run from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (with breakfast and registration from 7:30-8:30 a.m.). We ask that participants are ready for the workshop to begin promptly at 8:30 a.m.

As part of their registration, all attendees will receive a copy of Teach Like a Champion 3.0, offering additional resources related to both workshops, as well as other topics.

We recommend that schools bring teams of 4-10 teachers and administrators at multiple levels when they attend, as this best supports future implementation in schools.

• Time: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (with registration and breakfast from 7:30-8:30 a.m.)

• Location: Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus (300 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL). Free parking is available.
  

• Cost: $200 (typically $500+)

• Recommended Attendees: We recommend that schools bring teams of 4-10 teachers and leaders across a range of grade levels and contents.

• Meals: Light breakfast and lunch are included each day.

• Inservice Points: Inservice points are available. Please bring your FDOE License number to registration.

• Hotels: For out of town attendees, there are a number of Miami hotels within walking distance, including The Elser, and the CitizenM - Miami Worldcenter.
