Madelyn Postman will be at the Steps at the RSA to talk about her debut book, Staring into the Sun.
The collection — a semifinalist of the 2025 Autumn House Nonfiction Prize — links memoir and true stories about the author's Chinese American family. Spanning 1895-2015, look out for a millionaire, a magician, and a model.
After an intro by Kate Hammer, Madelyn will share “The Three I Kept and the Three I Cut” about her research and writing process, followed by a reading and Q&A. You will then be able to buy the book and have it signed.
