Made For Women Leaders in UX & Design

Flux Convergence is back for its 3rd year!

On Thursday, October 1st, we invite you to join us at London's iconic venue, The Barbican, to spend a day with fellow Leaders in UX & Design.

At Flux Convergence, you will hear directly from peers, learning how they are navigating a variety of content related to the UX & Design craft, leadership and other areas of personal development that impact you.

If you'd like to find out more about what to expect on the day, you can watch the 2024 & 2025 recap videos at the bottom of our event page here.

FLUX IS SPONSORED BY USERTESTING

UserTesting was the birthplace of Flux and we're so happy to still have them by our side as we build Flux, as it wouldn't be what it is today if it wasn't for the support we get from UserTesting. Thank you to our Headline Annual Sponsor for your unwavering support.

PART ONE | UX & DESIGN LEADERSHIP: NAVIGATING THE AI ERA

10.10am | Leading Through Change, Transformation & Uncertainty In The Age of Ai
Presented by Dr Emmanuelle Savarit, UXR Leader, author & podcast host

AI is transforming the way we work, but it's only the latest in a series of major organisational changes. In this keynote, Dr Emmanuelle Savarit explores how UX Research and Design leaders can successfully lead through change, transformation and uncertainty. Drawing on lessons from digital transformation, COVID and AI, she'll introduce a leadership framework built around three phases: Anticipate, Navigate Uncertainty, and Reflect & Learn, exploring how leaders prepare for change, lead through ambiguity, and build resilience for whatever comes next. A keynote designed to challenge perspectives and inspire leaders to think differently about leading in an era of continuous transformation.

10.35 : Panel | What are the Critical Things that we're NOT talking about, when it comes to AI?

An important discussion to address all of things about AI that we're not talking about front and centre, from the impact it's having on teams, learning and development, society, digital experience and what the future really holds.

Louise Herriott - Head of CX Design, Tesco Bank
Alice Yeates - UX Practice Lead, Lloyds Banking Group
Emma Boulton
- Head of UX Research, Waitrose & Partners

Moderated by
Charmaine Wyland,
Design Leader & Founder

11.15: COFFEE BREAK

11.35: Nobody Asked for the Cookie Banner: The Mistake We Can't Afford to Repeat with AI

Presented by Sandra Gonzáles, UX Director at Trustpilot and Founder of UX For Change

Since 2 August 2026, Article 50 of the EU AI Act has required that people be told when they're talking to an AI. Every team leader in this conference now owns a version of that brief. We have been here before. Eight years ago a principle had to become an interface, and what our profession produced was the cookie banner, the most clicked, least loved pattern on the web, still standing after five separate attempts to replace it. That was never a failure of talent. Everyone who built one was on a deadline, doing what was asked. It was a failure of system, and that system is still running. This time the stakes are higher. Being intentional about this new brief now, begins with unlearning.

12.05pm - 12.45pm : Panel |
Who's Job is it Anyways? The Secret To Managing Cross-Functional Chaos.

When AI is democratising the product team and dissolving role boundaries, how do we lead and have impact in our functions?
A unique conversation between Cross-Functional Partners:

Helen Durant - Staff Software Engineer - Isometric
Hazal Muhtar - Senior Director, Global Product Analytics - WISE
Frances Ibe
- Founder of Worth Building, ex SVP Product & Chief Experience Officer (CXO) at Tide

12.45pm : LUNCH BREAK

PART TWO | THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE OF LEADERSHIP

1.35pm: The Flux Retreat | The Importance of Dedicating Time To Yourself as a Leader

A quick recap of The Flux Leadership Retreat that took place in June 2026. We'll share more on what we did, learned and the impact it's had on the leaders that attended.

1.45pm: Roundtable Sessions | From The Stage To You - The Conversation Continues

This is the time to let your voice be heard.

You will be able to choose from 5 group discussions and you'll also have the freedom to move between each conversation.

1. Leading through constant change
2. Everything we're not talking about when it comes to AI
3. Unlearning & Intentional leadership in the world of AI
4. Leading cross-functional clarity when role democratisation has never been greater
5. Battling burnout - how I'm handling it or how I've come through it

Each conversation will be faciliated by a host.

2.30pm: BREAK

2.40pm: Life Is Too Short For Burnout

In this section, we'll be dedicating our focus to the experiences, challenges and real life impact that burnout is having on Women in UX & Design Leadership. You'll hear from a group of leaders that have been, and are going, through burnout and the methods that have helped them overcome it.

We will also have a guest speaker who is a specialist in burnout management - to be announced soon.

3.20pm: Closing Keynote | Penny Mallory

Pressure is increasing. Targets are rising. Change is constant. The difference between coping and performing is Mental Toughness. Penny helps you develop it - so you can deliver under pressure, not despite it.

3.50pm: Closing Remarks & Thanks from Flux - & what's coming up in 2027

4pm : Drinks, Canapés & Entertainment

5.20pm : Event ends
