FND - A New Era. FND Awareness Day UK 2026

In this talk, Dr Niels Detert will explore how understanding of Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) has evolved and what this means for people living with the condition today. The session will highlight the importance of education for patients, families and professionals, the role of charities and networks, and the different therapies that can support people with FND. It will also reflect on the challenges that remain and the hopeful signs for the future.

Dr Niels Detert is a Clinical Neuropsychologist at Oxford Universities Hospitals and is also the Chair - UK FND Network  (a collaboration between leading FND Specialists, FND charitable organisations and other interested health professionals).
