Bristol-based investigative journalist and filmmaker Jenny Evans joins Clifton LitFest chair Paula O’Rourke to discuss her book, Don’t Let It Break You, Honey: A Memoir About Saving Yourself, longlisted for the 2026 Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction.

Weaving memoir with investigation, Jenny traces how one act of violence can ripple through a life, and through the institutions meant to offer protection. What began as a search for answers after private details she gave to the police appeared in a newspaper became a wider exploration of power, shame, survival and accountability.
