Tom Overton, who first got to know Berger after cataloguing his archive at the British Library, spent fifteen years following the extraordinary traces of his life and work from Moscow to Texas, the Alps to Istanbul. In John Berger: From Life, he reveals a writer, broadcaster and thinker who transformed the way we look at art, technology, migration and politics, and whose passionate engagement with questions of war, inequality and Palestine remains strikingly relevant.

Drawing on personal memories and previously unseen material, Overton cuts through the mythology to offer a vivid, intimate portrait of Berger and the ideas that shaped him, and us. He is joined by writer Michael Malay, currently working on a book about Berger.
