Description
Focus Management
The official one-day training course based on the bestselling book Focus ON/OFF.
In recent years, the number of stimuli we receive has increased fivefold. As a result, we are interrupted more and more often in what we are doing.
What are the effects of these increasing interruptions?
Productivity drops steadily
Our brain has to recover from each interruption. Due to the increase in interruptions, we complete fewer and fewer (complex) tasks. As a result, we often feel very busy, but not productive.
Constant over-stimulation
Due to the large supply of information, we become over-stimulated more quickly. It proves difficult to stop our heads - the thought machine.
More susceptible to telephone addiction
Our brain gets used to the increased number of interruptions and starts looking for more interruptions. Distractions from technical applications and phone addiction are on the lookout.
Work-life balance is under constant pressure
It is difficult to fit more complex work tasks into the working day if our attention is fragmented. Many people have the feeling that they always have to be on top.
Working from home is more difficult
When working from home, the boundaries between work and private life are blurred. For the brain, there is no difference between a work task and a private task.
Stress increases
Stress in the brain is caused, among other things, by unfinished tasks or thoughts. Due to the many interruptions, tasks and thoughts remain unfinished more often.
If you are able to manage your own focus, then:
- You’ll get more done during the day and work less overtime.
- You can switch gears quickly and get back into the flow after an interruption.
- You can be productive at any location - even at home with family members or in a busy office.
- You will still have enough energy left after a busy day at work to enjoy your evening.
- It is easier to stop thoughts and be truly present in the moment.
- You are in control of your to-do list and your work-life balance.
Focus is a skill
In this training you’ll discover how the brain deals with attention and concentration and which routines you can use to optimise these. If you are able to manage your own focus, it’ll have a positive effect on your productivity, stress and (work) happiness.
