Joseph Havlat & Friends - New Works for John
Thu 3 Oct 2024 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
The Green Room at The Grand, CT20 2XL
Description
Folkestone New Music is delighted to present this very special concert.
Our friend - the outstanding pianist - Joseph Havlat, will lead an ensemble of the very best current Royal Academy of Music students in performing 8 world premieres written and performed in tribute to John Woolrich, and also two premieres written by John himself.
This concert is the final event in the year-long series of events to celebrate John Woolrich's 70th birthday and is an opportunity for established composers he likes and admires to pay tribute to John through writing a piece specially for him; to honour his contribution to their work and also to British music-making generally.
The composers involved, our friends at the Royal Academy, and Folkestone New Music, have been working on this project for over a year now.
