FAQs: June Edition - The Stray

Is free parking available? Not at this event. Parking on The Stray is illegal. Those arriving by car should head to one of the towns multi-storey car parks, which are all within 5 minutes walk of the event site. These include the Jubilee multi storey car park & the West Park multi storey car park.

Are dogs welcome? Yes, dogs are welcome at the event, we just ask that you keep them on a lead, pick up any mess and respect other attendees.

Is the festival covered? Some parts are, such as the Cookery Theatre and markets. Please bring appropriate clothing, sun block etc.

Can I bring my own furniture? Yes, folding chairs, tables etc are most welcome.

Can I bring my own food and drink? Outside food and drink is not permitted on site (water is ok).

Can we leave the festival and come back in? Yes, as long as you get a stamp/wristband from the entrance.

What are the opening times? Please see above.

Where on The Stray is the festival? The festival takes place on the Oatlands Drive section on the Stray. This is bordered by Oatlands Drive, Knaresborough Road and Wetherby Road.

Live Cookery Theatre – Partnering with Yorkshire Food Guide, we’re excited to present a Live Cookery Theatre for the entire festival weekend. Watch the region's top chefs dazzle on stage with culinary creations.

International Street Food – Stroll through the lush fields of The Stray, where tantalising aromas will lead you to flavors from across the globe. Choose from some of the UK’s finest street food traders.

Indulge in freshly made Paella or Pad Thai, rich in flavour. Savour the gooey delight of melted artisan cheese or dive into halloumi fries topped with pomegranate.

Craving something sweet? Treat yourself to Spanish churros drizzled with Belgian chocolate. Sample dishes from Japan, Italy, Peru, the U.S., and everywhere in between!

Vegan options? Absolutely – almost all vendors will have vegan specials to entice you.

Independent Drink – Kick back in a colourful deck chair and sip on a cold beer, a glass of champagne, or a cocktail topped with fresh strawberries. With eight independent bars at the festival, there’s a drink for every taste.

Prefer something non-alcoholic? Stop by our specialty bar for freshly squeezed juices and smoothies made to order.

Fine Artisan Markets – Let your senses come alive as you browse the vibrant Artisan Produce Markets. Savour gooey brownies, gourmet fudge, and luxury cured meats. Cheese lovers will have a field day with selections from top producers across the UK.

Looking for something to take home? Choose from handmade marshmallows, artisan wines, and specialty gins. This handpicked selection of the UK’s best artisans has something for everyone.

Live Music – Enjoy the award-winning sounds of jazz, soul, and pop. Dance to the distinctive music of the Washboard Resonators, and let the smooth sax of Will Forrester set the mood throughout the festival.

Live Entertainment – Wander over to the Entertainment Arena, where you’ll witness the extraordinary skills of Matthew J and friends.

Children’s Entertainment – Watch the kids light up at the Magic Matt show. Let them take part in the free kids' quiz and explore the fact-hunt around the grounds. Supporting Mental Health – Our charity partner, Harrogate Mind, will be at the festival. Through optional ticket donations and interactive activities, we aim to raise even more funds for mental health support, adding to our total of over £127,000 raised so far. Let’s break the record together!
