Forest School runs every Wednesday during term time, bookings are on a termly basis and bookings automatically roll over to the following term unless you tell us you no longer wish to continue. 

There will be a different activity to take part in each week if you wish to plus different areas to explore within the forest including a mud kitchen, art, story area, sensory and heuristic play, swing and hammocks.

We will have a fire where your child will have the opportunity to toast a snack over the fire! Usually our snacks are chocolate bread or marshmallows however we do have different other snacks such as pancakes, hot cross buns & waffles throughout the year.

Please dress yourself and child appropriate for the weather on the day and the forest environment. Please remember that biting insects, nettles, brambles etc are in the forest, please dress baby in full legs and sleeves and a hat to prevent bites, stings and scratches as much as possible. Long sleeves and trousers for adults are also recommended. Please bring bug spray and sun tan lotion in the warmer months.

If this is your first week please meet at the covered seating area outside the visitor cafe and toilets 10 minutes before the start of the session where a ranger will meet you and walk you to the site.

Sessions go ahead in all weathers except from high winds over 40mph. Should we have to cancel a week of Forest School we will let you know in advance via email & text message and the cost will be deducted from your next term. We do not offer refunds or transfers for illness.

Please park in the main visitor centre car park. The barriers will open on approach and you do not need to purchase a ticket; you just need to visit the machine before you leave. Cash and contactless card payments are accepted. A discount code allowing you to park for £3 is available and will be given out at class. 
We do however recommend purchasing an annual membership for £60 if you are visiting regularly.
