Family Survival Day - over 5 years

The Event

Join Ranger Pete to learn forest survival skills - may include shelters, fires & woodcraft skills. You're sure to have an amazing day and go home full of new knowledge. There will be fire snacks but please bring a packed lunch. Parents must accompany children at all times.

What age is this event suitable for?

Due to the activities included in this event we recommend children to be over the age of 5 years. Please remember this is a family event and all children will need to be accompanied by an assisting adult (1 adult can assist 2 children). Adults attend free of charge (max 2 adults per child).

Event Information

• Please meet at the covered seating area outside the main visitor cafe at 10am prompt. We will not be able to wait for you if you arrive late and you will not find the site without the ranger. Please note the site is a 10 minute walk away with a steep hill at the end and is not suitable for prams.

• Please dress for the outdoor, forest environment - sturdy closed toe shoes, waterproof coat and trousers, long sleeved top and full length trousers (no shorts allowed) and a jumper. Please bring sun cream and bug spray in hot weather.

• All events are non-transferable and non-refundable (unless we are able to resell your ticket). Events go ahead in all weathers with the exception of high winds. If we do cancel the session we will contact you and a full refund will be given. If the event is sold out and you are no longer able to attend the event, please let us know and we will do our best to resell your ticket. If your ticket does sell, we will of course refund you.

• Parking charges apply, there are no parking discount codes during school holidays. Please visit the Forestry England Delamere Forest website for up to date parking charges. If you are visiting us regularly we recommend purchasing an annual Forestry England parking pass from the visitor centre. The parking pass does also include discounts in the cafe and other on-site franchises.
