Survive the Wilderwood, Beat the Monsters, Open the Portal!

Getting kids off screen and outdoors! Playing the Wildcraft Adventure™ is a fantastic way to get your video game obsessed child out into nature. This video game inspired outdoor activity day has been created by Woodland Classroom and has been extremely popular!

In computer games like Minecraft and Terraria, players have to survive in a hostile environment, build their own house, hunt for their food, search for materials and fend off wandering monsters. Sure, your child can survive in the 'wilderness' on the computer screen but can they do it out in the real woods? In this unique outdoor game kids have to work together, using what they know from video games to learn outdoor survival skills and earn points along the way.

We have 4 clans (teams - minimum 4 per clan, max 6, with a minimum of 2 parents/guardians per clan).

Each clan must work together to gain points through 'mining', building a base to escape 'monsters' and other tasks including making weapons, building traps, fire lighting, creating potions and more. The more tasks that are completed the more points that they are awarded. 

This is not a taught, skill based learning day. It is a game and requires teamwork throughout. 

Please bring a packed lunch.

Parents must accompany their children if under 8 years old although we do not require 1 adult per child so if an adult is willing to take responsibility of a few friends then that is fine!

Children over 8 years can attend unaccompanied.

FURTHER EVENT INFORMATION 

Please dress yourself and your child appropriately for the weather on the day and the outdoor forest environment. We recommend long sleeve tops and trousers to prevent scratches, stings and bites. Please bring bug spray and sun cream if required. 

Please meet at the car park at 10am prompt. To access the car park, please drive up the main drive, continue as far as you can go and this will lead you to the Girlguiding Cheshire Forest car park. Do not turn off at any point on the drive, continue all the way to the top, the Girlguiding Cheshire Forest gate will be open. Please park in the car park on the right hand side, the rangers will meet you at the car park. 

All events are non-refundable and non-transferable and our sessions go ahead in all weathers except high winds. Refunds will only be given if events are cancelled by Forest Explorers. Please do not ask for a refund or to transfer your ticket to another event.

Sessions will be cancelled if we do not fulfil our minimum numbers; if this is the case refunds will be issued to those booked on.
