Welcome to Beginners Sign Up!

Sign up for a seat at a beginner table at our weekly club. You must have a ticket to secure a seat at one of our teaching tables.

A teacher will be on hand to teach you all the basics of how to play mahjong and welcome you to our mahjong club. By the end of the session, you will know how to set up and win a game!

If you already know how to play but want to learn more, you can sign up for our points table to learn how to play mahjong with points. This includes the different ways to get points and recommended strategies. We'll be teaching you our version of Hong Kong Old Style Mahjong so you'll be able to join in on any of our more experienced tables in future!

It's free to sign up to our sessions but there's a £6 suggested donation on the door which goes directly to ESEA Community Centre and helps them keep running.

Please arrive on time! We will allow a 15 minute grace period, if you do not arrive by 10:15am we will give your seat to any walk ins.

These tickets are only to secure a seat at a beginners table. If you are an experienced player, you do not need a ticket to attend our sessions, you can just show up, but we recommend coming early to secure a seat!

Four Winds Mahjong Club

Four Winds Mahjong Club is a volunteer-led community club that brings people together for weekly mahjong sessions. We teach mahjong to beginners and provide a welcoming space for ESEA folks and allies to come together and play mahjong every weekend at ESEA Community Centre in Hackney and Camden Chinese Community Centre in Euston. ESEA Community Centre

The ESEA Community Centre (formally Hackney Chinese Community Centre) is a charity dedicated to serving the ESEA community by providing a physical space in Hackney, London that serves as a local hub for support with essential services and access to social, wellbeing and community activities.

ESEA Outdoors UK and Four Winds Mahjong supports the valuable work the centre does for the ESEA community and acknowledges their active efforts in encouraging the local community to get involved and have an active say on how it is governed.
