F&B VIKINGS: Spring Saga (SOLD OUT)

Spring is upon us, and as the ice thaws, Fox&Badge visits Thor & Tyr, Frigg &  Freya & the alluring mythological nirvana of VIKINGS for an exhilarating expedition into new Nordic worlds.

We Brits descend from Viking blood, yet our Christian heritage renounced their glory.
On this night we revisit their majesty, revelling in their beauty and wildness, their tribal rituals and fearless courage, their sexy ferality and deep sensuality.
Our glorious venue, The Steel Yard, was once the centre of the German Hanseatic League - an empire that would usurp the Vikings’ extraordinary dominance across Europe. The Vikings bred the trade pacts of the Hansa - and  thus effectively paved the way to our very venue!

We’ll roll back time to explore the best parts of their glorious world, inspired by their visionary rather than violent qualities; learning and improving on this golden past to become Warriors of Dance & Love. (our wildness will be fully consensual, and we won’t tolerate any actual pillaging ;) )

We will re-imagine a modern Viking world, combining the best of the old with a welcoming pluralism, diversity and loving inclusivity.
The brick arches will become long mythical timbered halls, draped with skulls and antlers, rope and fabric, scattered with myriad stages and spaces for you to unleash your magic.

Perhaps you’ll catch a longboat drifting through the low fog, or a bodily tribute to the Gods; perhaps you’ll witness magical forms of death and rebirth and the mythical Ragnarök. Perhaps you’ll join the festive feast, or get involved as we move from war to love, and sensually overcome the shield walls.
At last we have been allowed to once again breathe and play with fire - and hosts of other secret moments await you…

We will be curating a series of magical spaces and experiences across every nook & cranny of the Steel Yard's 3 arches, including:

• a majestic pumping main dancefloor (with our signature all-female international DJ lineup of magnificent melodic techno artists we love)
• a more intimate, playful dancefloor playing gentler gorgeous grooves
• a heady world of powerful and provocative Viking-themed performances 
• a swarm of Nordic and mythic characters to interact and engage with
• magical rituals to aid our transcendental transition
• luscious chillout areas, offering Scandinavian Sensuality, impact, dungeon & ViKINK at the edges
• immersive and artistic transformation of all spaces 
• & you - the most glorious, fabulous, warm & participatory community, resplendent in your costume

DRESS CODE: Ancient, Mythical and Medieval Scandinavians, Tribal Norse & Vikings
In contrast to the futuristic SciFi of New Year's Eve, the Victoriana of Vampires and the Camp of Circus, we celebrate the tribal and ceremonial, organic and natural, with a muted palette of blacks and browns, creams and whites - resplendent with dramatic fur and feathers, hair-braids and horns, leather straps and armouring, with the occasional flash of precious metals. As always, opulence, gorgeousness, sensuality and sexiness deeply encouraged; extra points for creative Viking Fetish! <3

We particularly hope to see wild, bold splashes of face-paint & body-paint, with eyes buried in sooty blacks, and skins scattered with runic characters. 
Beards & follicular extravagance deeply encouraged! This is perhaps the easiest theme for our masculine brethren ;)

This is a rare theme where costumes might entail weaponry, and care & thought must be taken to keep us all safe & to avoid disappointment at the door. Common-sense is always a useful guide - will security & our community feel safe with what you bring?
Allowed: non-realistic weapons, blunt metal weapons in a sheath, unstrung or loosely strung bows, plastic / wood / LARP weapons
Not allowed: firearms, knives, props or weapons or arrows with sharp edges, functional bows or crossbows, slingshots

Important note: you are the event; your creativity and input co-create the atmosphere. Your presence matters greatly to us; so does how you present. If you look less than awesome, the whole event suffers. Be like a Viking - be as elegant, alluring and ravishing as you possibly can; everyone will thank you for it. We prize boldness, sensuality, self-expression and imagination.
There will be absolutely no entry without maximum effort and reverence for the theme; we will not admit ANY ordinary day-clothes, businesswear, sportswear, jeans, T shirts, sneakers, etc. We will deploy our 1st Door Dresscode Deities to ensure the protection of our community & event; any sartorial saboteurs seeking sneaky entry to our halls will be stripped & dragged naked to the dungeon, before gaining clothes-less access ;)
