Winter's Serenade - Harps and Voice at Christmas

Winter's Serenade

Harps and Voice at Christmas

Take a break from the Christmas rush and join us at St John’s Cathedral for an uplifting concert of virtuosic and seasonal music. Blending classical works, traditional winter tunes, and original compositions for pedal harps, clarsachs, and voices, this performance is an invitation to slow down and embrace the quiet wonder of the season.

Gathered in local harpist and composer Natasha Burns’ (above) home town of Oban, this concert brings together four extraordinary artists for an intimate night built around friendship, shared storytelling, and breathtaking musicianship. Joining Natasha on stage are her long-time mentor, collaborator, and friend, international award-winning harp soloist Eleanor Turner (below), Harriet Corbishley, and distinguished soprano Caroline Salmon.

Together, the ensemble performs a hand-picked festive repertoire featuring Vivaldi’s Winter, Sakamoto’s Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, Debussy’s Des pas sur la neige, solos and duets by Bach, Fauré, and Mozart, alongside a spirited traditional Scottish Winter Ceilidh Medley and original pieces inspired by the Argyll landscape.

The concert features two 40-minute musical sets separated by a 20-minute interval, with festive drinks and treats available to enjoy inside the cathedral.
