A cabaret for the dead divas we miss so much

Alan Rickman. David Bowie. Harper Lee. Carrie Fisher. George Michael. Prince. Leonard Cohen. Victoria Wood. Zsa Zsa Gabor. Mohamed Ali. And My Mum. What do all these people have in common I hear you ask? They all died in 2016.

It has been 10 years since my mum died. It was (and still is) the hugest, the saddest and most world shifting experience of life. There is also lots to laugh about. Pretty dark jokes to tell. Sweet stories to share. Silly songs to sing. Nice videos to see...so I thought, let's do a low key to enjoy all of this

I’m pulling together a one-off cabaret-come-memorial. There will be songs, poems, anecdotes and pieces...I have invited some of my talented friends to come along and share their art and I think you’ll agree, it’s a pretty starry line-up.

I am not a trained grief counsellor and I'm not offering anything more than a campy cabaret for folks who want to sit with the feelings of death, without the worry of making their friends feel awkward about it. There are loads of amazing bereavement resources and support out there for folks who need that.
