Remote Journalism Work Experience and Mentorship Scheme

Are you struggling to find work experience as a journalism student, graduate or aspiring journalist? Would you like the opportunity to work remotely under the guidance of an experienced journalist? Are you in need of a journalism mentor?

This session is an induction to our Journalism Work Experience and Mentorship Scheme.

Freelancing for Journalists links people seeking media experience with freelance journalists who are able to offer work experience and mentoring on a remote basis. Learn from experienced journalists across the globe how to research, interview, write and promote content by signing up to the scheme and taking part in this online briefing.

In this online induction session Freelancing for Journalists directors Lily Canter and Emma Wilkinson will give advice on:

• How to participate in the scheme
• How to work alongside freelance journalists
• How to contact freelance journalists on the database
• How to make the most of your work experience/mentorship opportunity

At the end of the induction you will be given access to our private database of work experience and mentorship opportunities across the UK and beyond. The opportunities vary in length and some offer payment and/or expenses but this is at the discretion of the individual offering the place.

Please note if you are unable to attend the induction but would still like to sign up for the scheme then you must purchase a ticket. You will be sent a recording of the online briefing and details of how to access the database following the live event.
