Ireland is home to the headquarters of big tech firms—which have become the new digital public square—so what happens here, matters for free speech across the world.
At this event, we will gather Irish politicians and high-profile free speech advocates from across the West to raise awareness about the importance of free speech and threats to this fundamental right in our age.
The event will gather a coalition of figures who may disagree on various issues, but who all agree on the importance of free speech.
Speakers at the event include:
• Michael Shellenberger is an American bestselling author and journalist, who has broken major stories including the “Twitter Files”.
• Lorcán Price is an Irish barrister and legal counsel for ADF International.
• Graham Linehan is an Irish comedy writer and author of the memoir "Tough Crowd".
• Andy Ngo is a journalist and author. He is a senior editor at The Post Millennial and has written reports for the New York Post, Newsweek and others. His book, "Unmasked: Inside Antifa's Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy," is a New York Times bestseller.
• Laura Perrins is a former barrister and writes for the Catholic Herald, Gript and The Conservative Woman.
• Father Calvin Robinson is an Old Catholic priest serving in an Anglican parish. He is also a broadcaster, writer and host of the online show the Common Sense Crusade, which looks at current events from a Christian perspective.
• Andrew Doyle is a writer, comedian and host of Free Speech Nation on GB News.
• Laoise de Brún is a barrister and founder and CEO of non-profit organisation The Countess.
• Gerard Casey is Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at University College Dublin and Honorary President of Free Speech Ireland.
• James Orr is Associate Professor of Philosophy of Religion at the University of Cambridge and Chair of the Edmund Burke Foundation UK.
