We're working to preserve this significant part of Nevada’s mining history by restoring the Sutro Tunnel & Site in Dayton, NV.

The Friends of Sutro Tunnel Charity is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is dedicated to restoring the Sutro Tunnel & Site and educating the public about this unique landmark of Comstock & American History.

The proceeds from your event & tour tickets go directly to our efforts to restore the Sutro Tunnel and surrounding site.

What to Expect

The Sutro Tunnel Historic Site is an outdoor historic attraction located in the Nevada desert. Visitors should expect uneven terrain, dirt roads, and varying weather conditions throughout the year. Comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, and water are strongly recommended, especially during the summer months.

Weather & Site Conditions

Tours and site access are subject to weather, safety conditions, and operational requirements. Friends of Sutro Tunnel reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel tours as necessary to ensure visitor safety and protect the historic site.

Liability Waiver

All visitors are required to complete a liability waiver before entering the site. To help expedite check-in, we encourage visitors to download, print, and complete a Waiver of Liability prior to arrival. Waivers will also be available at the site.
