Witness History in the Re-Making for Yourself at the Sutro Tunnel & Historic Site in Dayton, Nevada.
Explore the historic Sutro Tunnel site at your own pace during one of our Self-Guided Tour days. Walk the grounds, visit historic buildings, enjoy the peaceful pond, discover the remains of Adolph Sutro's mansion, and learn about the ongoing restoration of one of Nevada's most significant historic landmarks.
A self-guided tour map is available inside the museum overlooking the pond and will help guide you through the site's history and points of interest.
Please note that self-guided admission includes access to the historic site grounds. Visitors who wish to enter the tunnel may do so by checking in with staff at the museum upon arrival.
Tour tickets are valid only for the date purchased. Visitors must park in the designated parking lot and remain within public access areas of the site.
The Sutro Tunnel Site is a living restoration project. Your admission helps support the preservation of the Sutro Tunnel, its historic buildings, educational programs, and ongoing restoration efforts.
The site contains uneven terrain, historic structures, and outdoor conditions that may not be accessible for all visitors. If you have accessibility questions or concerns, please call (775) 900-0507 before your visit.
