Wander through the beautifully restored historic grounds, explore original 19th-century buildings, stroll around the peaceful pond, visit the remains of Adolph Sutro’s mansion, and uncover the remarkable story of the tunnel that helped transform the Comstock mining industry. Inside the museum overlooking the pond, you’ll receive a complimentary self-guided tour map to help you navigate the site and discover its rich history.

Tunnel Access Included

Your self-guided admission also includes the opportunity to enter the historic Sutro Tunnel. Simply check in with museum staff upon arrival for current access information and safety instructions.

Know Before You Visit

  • Tickets are valid only for the selected date.
  • Please park in the designated visitor parking area.
  • Visitors must remain within public access areas of the historic site.
  • The grounds include uneven terrain and historic structures. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
