Description

Join FOTBOT on a fascinating tour of the City of London, discovering the places linked to the East India Company. The Company of adventure merchants - some might say the Pirates of the Indian Ocean - was the world’s largest multinational company and the architects of Empire. It changed what we ate, drank and wore. We will start our story in 1600 and finish in present day.

How much will the tour cost?

This unique tour lasting two hours is £20 for Members and £30 for nonmembers. After the tour, we will have a drink in the city of London (drink not included).

Who will be our tour guide?

Our tour guide is Lisa Honan CBE, who served as Governor of Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha from 25 April 2016 until 4 May 2019. Honan was previously Head of Office in Kenya for the Department for International Development, and after holding the post in St Helena went on to be Head of the DFID Office in Nepal.

Where will we be meeting?

The meeting location will be emailed to attendees 48 hours before the event. The location will be close to Fish Street Hill. We are meeting for a 1.00pm start.

What is the closest tube station to the meeting point?
