Yulia Zhuravleva, violin and Sima Kustanovich, piano in "Mosaic"

The sound of strings returns to the Stone Church Cultural Center as Yulia Zhuravleva, violin and Sima Kustanovich, piano, present this original program of musical arrangements by Vivaldi-Respighi, Mozart, Haydn, Brahms and Mendelssohn. They will also perform Concert Fantasy on Themes from George Gershwin's Porgy and Bess by Igor Frolov.

International award-winner Yulia Zhuravleva, who plays violin in a self-described "Russian passionate" style, has received multiple awards for violin performance in international competition. She plays regularly as a soloist and as a member of professional chamber ensembles and symphony orchestras including the Worcester Festival Orchestra (Massachusetts) Roanoke Symphony Orchestra (Virginia) and Chamber Orchestra "Carpe Diem" (Spain).  Sima Kustanovich is one of the Northeast's most sought-after pianists, hailed by the Worcester Telegram and Gazette for the 'extraordinary intensity and brilliance of her playing.'  In 1990 she received a rare invitation to perform on Steinway & Son's 500,000th piano that toured the US. She has built her lasting international reputation based on her mastery of keyboard repertoire, and is equally at home as a soloist or a chamber musician, collaborating with such ensembles as the Borodin String Quartet.
