Meet your Hosts
- Virginia Samsel: A wine professional based in Seattle, Virginia has extensive experience across various roles in the wine industry, from sommelier to educator. She also runs a business focusing on energy work as a biodynamic tool for farmers and winemakers.
- Barbara Shinn: (A Friends with Forks member!) With decades of experience in biodynamics, Barbara has cultivated wine grapes on Long Island and now stewards 14 acres of biodynamic land in coastal Maine. She is dedicated to crafting high-quality biodynamic preparations and educating others.
- Karina Hines: A chef and certified functional nutrition counselor, Karina integrates culinary arts, nutrition, and herbalism. As the founder of Botanical Kitchen, she promotes holistic well-being through nutrient-dense, seasonal recipes and emphasizes the importance of soil health in nutrition.

About the Josephine Porter Institute (JPI):
All three women are board members of JPI, a non-profit organization dedicated to biodynamic soil health preparations and education. JPI aims to transform agriculture into a practice of peace and healing through its library, bookstore, and workshops.
