Frome Food Network End of Year Social

Join other Frome Food Network members and guests for a night of good food and good company as part of the network’s last, and biggest, mixer of 2023.

The Frome Food Network’s End of Year Social is set to be part celebration of what the FFN and its members have achieved, part excuse for local food minds to come together in the name of Good Food.

It’ll be your next best chance to convene with other local food stakeholders. And revel in what makes the FFN what it is – the growers, retailers, chefs, researchers, and food-conscious citizens hungry for a more vibrant and sustainable Food Town.

Please note this event is exclusive to Frome Food Network members, though anyone with some sort of stake in the local food environment is welcome along too.

Dinner

The centrepiece for the night will be a communal festive 4-course Persian spread, put on by Rode-based chef Bita Fallah, in Vallis Farm's dining room.

The Evening Standard called Bita’s supper club “one of the best in London”, when she was living in the capital. But let’s see how well it does in Frome?

Drinks

There will be a welcome cocktail/mocktail on arrival, but do feel free to also BYOB.

Venue

Vallis Farm is a newly and beautifully restored farmhouse and grounds, including market garden, Shepherd’s huts, and studio workshops. It’s also, partly because of the positive effect this has had on the local wildlife, generally a nice place to be.

The farm is easy access from town – about a 20 minute walk via Vallis Road and footpaths. A walking group will depart from outside Bistro Lotte at 6:30pm (ideal for those hoping to have a few drinks), or alternatively a limited amount of parking is available at the farm or Vallis Vale nearby.

Pricing

Tickets are priced at £38 a head, which covers ingredients, venue hire, cocktail, and Bita. If this cost is prohibitive for you, but would really like to attend, let Hugh know and we might be able to sort something out.

Since spaces are limited to just 30, booking well ahead is recommended.

Dietary requirements

Food prepared in the kitchen may contain, or come into contact with, allergens. If you have any special dietary requirements, including any vegetarian/vegan preferences, simply note them in your ticket order.

Dress code

If part of the walking group, wellies or walking boots – plus a torch – are advised.

Cancellation policy

Full cost of tickets can be refunded up to 48 hours in advance. Otherwise, there's no guarantee tickets can be refunded, but feel free to pass them on to someone else
