This talk was created to go alongside the Somerset Rural Life Museum’s exhibition Strength and Resilience: Somerset Women in the Second World War to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day. This talk describes the roles which the women of Britain undertook during the Second World War and highlights the stories of four remarkable women with connections to the county of Somerset and their lives both during the conflict and the subsequent peace process.
