Two sessions on governance for charities and other voluntary organisations.
Tuesday 12th October and Tuesday 23rd November 10am – 12pm
The first session will have an overview of governance and look at the different ways voluntary organisations can be set up e.g. as charities, community interest companies, companies limited by guarantee etc. It will go on to consider the legal duties and liabilities of charity trustees and committee members/board members and the Charity Code of Governance.
The second session will look at governance in practice including roles of officers and committees, meetings, risk management, membership and behavioural governance.
Both sessions will be very interactive and will try to explore the issues most important for the participants.
If you're unable to attend the first session, there will be a recap on the second, so do please sign up.
Leading the sessions will be Lindsay Driscoll, a charity law and governance expert with over 30 years’ experience in the sector.
