Come and join The BIG Sing – your local community choir in Rochester on Monday evenings in the Side Hall at Rochester Baptist Church, ME1 1RF. 

Our community choir rehearsals are what we like to call: “The best night of the week!”. Learn our unique arrangements and harmonies to uplifting, well-known songs with one of our expert tutors. Make new connections and embrace the power of singing together every week. Rehearsals allow us to prepare for upcoming performances and exciting special events. We raise the roof every night and guarantee that you will leave with a smile on your face!

MEET YOUR TUTOR - Liz Jai

Liz is a professional session singer, song-writer and is part of a regular soul function band. Liz started her journey as an alto in the London Community Gospel Choir which led to opportunities to tour the world as a backing singer performing with some of the UK’s top artists including Joss Stone, Emeli Sande, John Newman, Maverick Sabre and Leona Lewis. One of the founder members of the Urban Development Vocal Collective (UDVC) Liz has grown as a choir director – even directing the choir for an XFactor finalist on the National Television Awards! Liz is very passionate about making people believe in their abilities, understand how to work together and use their gifts to grow in confidence. Performing is about allowing your light to shine and be happy doing it!

PAY IT FORWARD?  Would you like to purchase a ticket anonymously for someone to come to choir who can't afford it? We have added a new ticket option - a 'pay it forward' ticket. Purchasing one of these will enable someone to come to choir who otherwise would not afford it. If you do buy one , THANK YOU!

• We sing a mixed repertoire of appealing music from pop, soul, gospel, RnB, Motown as well as original songs of our own and all are inspirational songs that will help you feel uplifted and energised.
• We provide the lyrics digitally for you to download and we do not use sheet music. Whether you think you can sing or not, if you love music, and have a passion to sing, simply bring your smile, enthusiasm and let’s have some fun! No experience needed – just give singing a try.
• Please invite your friends, neighbours and colleagues to join us, remember the first session is FREE so you’ve got nothing to lose by coming along for a try out!
• Once you join us after your free trial, we will email you with more details about how to access our website, how to download the lyrics and tracks, payment options, how to keep up to date with any social news, performance opportunities and all the latest info!
