Magnetic North presents Aberdeen by David Fennessy
Aberdeen is an intimate music theatre performance with cello, electronics, found sounds and live video. A collaboration between cellist Sonia Cromarty and composer David Fennessy, it explores memory, place and family-ties through the deeply personal story of the instrument being played, a cello built in part by Sonia’s father.
Aberdeen is being presented for one night only at Fruitmarket as part of Magnetic North’s 25th anniversary celebrations. It was developed in partnership with Magnetic North and premiered at Spitalfields Festival.
David Fennessy’s other work includes Conquest of the Useless (BBC SSO), The Riot Act (RSNO) and Pass the Spoon (Magnetic North).
