Future Makers: Opening Talk

Allison Everett, Buying & Retail Manager at Fruitmarket and creator of Future Makers in discussion with Fiona Anderson, Creative Development Manager at the Association of Cultural Enterprises. This talk will provide an overview of a retail model that seeks out makers to sustainably co-develop bespoke merchandise. In 2024 Fruitmarket won the Association of Cultural Enterprise’s first ever Seeds for Change prize that allowed Fruitmarket Bookshop to expand its long running makers mentorship programme. Future Makers has been a yearlong project with 12 makers responding to Fruitmarket and its exhibitions.
