This workshop is free thanks to The Wildlife Trusts Green Community Grant, funded by players of the People's Postcode Lottery.
Join Gini from Fruit Works Co-operative to learn the theory and practice of summer fruit tree pruning, and together we will help to maintain the fruit trees at Bramley Baths. This workshop is aimed at beginner and intermediate pruners.
We will cover:
- How to easily identify apple, pear, plum and cherry trees
- Understanding why we prune fruit trees, and how they respond to pruning at different times of year
- Understanding the '3 Ds and 2 Cs' of pruning
- How to prune stone fruit trees (plum and cherry) in summer
- How to prune pip fruit trees (apple and pear) in summer
- Choosing and using the right tools
This workshop is organised in collaboration with Incredible Edible Bramley.
