Part informal networking, part comedy masterclass, and part inspirational conversation, this is our third Glitter Edition Live Comedy Brunch at the Groucho Club London.

Hosted by Lucy Ryan — award-winning international showgirl, director, mentor and lead coach for The Glitter Challenge — the event brings together performers, creatives and industry voices for a lively discussion on confidence, creativity and the power of humour.

Lucy will be joined by a panel of exceptional creative voices, industry pioneers, and inspiring guest speakers.

Jo King aka ‘Mama Jojo’

Meet Goodtime Mama Jojo: performer, teacher, compère, entrepreneur, confidence coach, motivational speaker, choreographer, single parent, ballsy biatch, and ultimate British Burlesque Legend.

Starting her career in the late 1970s as a West End cabaret artiste, Mama Jojo pioneered Europe’s very first burlesque, striptease, and pole-dancing schools in 2000. Her mission being to help everyone feel body positive regardless of age, shape, or ability. Along the way, she has empowered thousands, coaching high-profile names like Dawn O'Porter, Liz Carr, and Agyness Deyn.

Renowned for her radical inclusivity, her proudest achievements include choreographing groundbreaking productions for disabled artists with Graeae, Extant, and the award-winning documentary The Crippendales. A powerhouse speaker, she has brought her message of self-acceptance to institutions ranging from the Royal Shakespeare Company to the London School of Economics.

In 2008, Mama Jojo made history as the first British performer celebrated as a legend at the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas. Unapologetically passionate, she remains dedicated to sparking self-worth and “Keeping the TEASE alive!”—for as long as there’s still snap in her suspenders.

Lynne Parker BCAa

Founder Groucho Club member and award-winning comedy producer, Lynne Parker created non-profit organisation Funny Women CIC in 2002 in response to a comedy promoter who said that 'women aren't funny'. The Funny Women Awards are central to this acclaimed non-profit community, empowering women to perform, write and develop their own distinctive voice professionally and personally.

Lynne describes Funny Women as her ‘life’s work’ providing a safe, diverse, creative environment for women. She also uses her experience in comedy to coach and encourage people to perform in business and public life with her Stand Up to Stand Out workshops, Comedy in the Community and bespoke events under ‘sister’ brand HERlarious.

In July 2025 Lynne received the British Citizen Award Medal of Honour for Services to Arts (BCAa) at the Palace of Westminster for her outstanding contribution to society. She was also awarded Most Inspiring Businesswoman 2024 and Lifetime Achievement 2025 in the Best Business Women Awards; the 2024 Athena40 Leader of Social Impact Award and recognised by Wise100 as one of the TOP 100 Women in Social Enterprise 2025.

Gemma Greaves

Gemma Greaves is a restless collector and connector of people and ideas, with a firm belief that the right relationships have the power to drive growth and create change.

She is co-founder of Nurture, building communities, curating handpicked experiences and working with businesses to connect leaders, ideas and opportunities. She is also the founder of Cabal, the brilliantly eclectic private members’ club built around a simple idea: interesting things happen when you put interesting people in a room together.

Previously Chief Executive of The Marketing Society, Gemma transformed it into a global community championing braver, more human leadership. She also hosts the award-winning podcast Are You Sitting Uncomfortably? and was the first female President of the 100-year-old Solus Club.

A speaker, host and facilitator, Gemma loves bringing people together, getting rooms talking and asking the questions that make things interesting. Taking her love of uncomfortable moments one step further, she took part in last year's Glitter Challenge and performed stand up comedy at the Edinburgh Fringe and The Comedy Store London.

Her proudest role of all is being mum to her mischievous ten-year-old son, Josh.

This promises bold storytelling, brilliant conversation and plenty of laughter, creating a space where identity, humour and inclusivity come together.

Together, the panel will explore the craft of comedy, creative careers, and how humour can be a powerful tool for resilience, storytelling and human connection.
