Featuring an hour a day of expert coaching and guidance from brilliant industry experts and an opportunity to perform in an online showcase at the end of the week.
Lynne Parker created Funny Women In 2002 and will kickstart the week with a workshop that connects you, builds your confidence and gets your creativity flowing.
Amy Mason is a comedian and writer from Bristol. She is a Funny Woman finalist, gigs around the UK, and has multiple TV projects in development with production companies. Amy made three acclaimed autobiographical shows with Bristol Old Vic (The Islanders, Mass, Hollering Woman Creek) and in 2014 her novel The Other Ida won the Dundee International Book Prize. She has written and performed two monologues for BBC Radio 4, was shortlisted for the BBC New Act of the Year and has written for The News Quiz, The Now Show, and Hypothetical.
Rachel Creeger is an award-winning stand-up comedian, writer and director, and the only practising Orthodox Jew on the UK comedy circuit. She is resident MC for London comedy club 'Upstairs at the Adam & Eve', and co-host of two podcasts, including the internationally acclaimed 'Jew Talkin' To Me?'. Rachel will guide you through the comedy circuit and how to go about taking your first steps into the industry. She will also discuss tips and tricks for writing and performing, how to use the stage and microphone effectively, and finding your comedy voice.
Ali Jay has worked across many fields from holiday camps to radio and stand up and back in the 1990’s co-hosted and ran the first LGBTQ+ comedy club in the UK. Having performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Brighton Fringe Festival, and clubs around the country, Ali teaches stand-up comedy to LGBTQ+ women and non-binary folx.
Daily workshops are held on Zoom, from 12.00pm to 1.00pm Monday to Thursday and recorded should you miss a day.
Culminating in a live online showcase on Friday, where you'll perform or present your pitch and receive invaluable feedback from facilitators and peers. This is split into two parts with an hour interval 11.00am to 12.00pm & 1.00pm to 2.00pm.
