The campaign for culture at the heart of every community!

Do you…

  • Live in Glasgow?
  • Care about your community?
  • Believe we all have something brilliant to share?

Join our free workshop to find out how you can make your own Fun Palace; where everyone an artist and everyone a scientist.

Fun Palaces is hosting a workshop in collaboration with The Pyramid at Anderston, 759 Argyle Street Glasgow G3 8D on Monday 7th July 6-8pm, where people interested in making a Fun Palace event can meet. Whether you are a Fun Palace dab hand or a novice organiser, come along!

This workshop is open to all, and might be for you if:

  • You want to find out more about Fun Palaces
  • You have never been involved in organising before and want to start
  • You're already involved in arts/science/culture and interested in new collaborations, working with grassroots communities
  • You have access to a venue and want people to use your space
  • You've got an idea for an event and want support to make it happen
  • You want to meet other people/organisations doing creative work linking culture and community
  • None of the above, but you are curious!

What is a Fun Palace?

A Fun Palace is a free, local event where people share their skills, talents and interests with others in the local community. Over the last 10 years, almost 50,000 people have organised over 2,500 Fun Palace events.

Organisations have thrown open their doors and invited in local people to organise the activities they want to do themselves. People have shared what they love with their neighbours - whether that’s art, science, sports, technology, history, crafts and more. Over the past ten years we've seen it all - poetry reading, dancing, wild weaving, singing, kitchen science experiments, DIY, pinhole cameras, beekeeping, informative talks, language relays, meet the bearded dragon, DIY Hovercrafts, Lava lamp making and stage combat (to name but a few).
