Cornwall Otter Award farm walk
Join FWAG SW and the winners of the 2025 Cornwall Otter Award, the Williams Family, as we take a guided tour of the farm and celebrate their success.
Presingoll Farm covers 200 acres on the edge of St Agnes. Run by brothers Mark and Andy Williams and their families, this multi-generational business has evolved into several enterprises including arable, cattle, sheep and rare breed pigs, a thriving campsite and dog walking field. In addition they grow and supply trees and hedging plants on 12 acres of the farm.
The farm tour will include;
- Discussions around the farms cropping plan. Having previously grown vegetables on the farm they are now looking to alternative crops that will reduce soil erosion and run-off whilst improving soil structure and fertility.
- The farm has 3 solar panel arrays, supplying a neighbouring industrial estate as well as the farm. We will be looking at how farming has continued on the land occupied by the panels, striking a balance between energy, food and the environment.
- Agroforestry is the latest enterprise on the farm with planting of Black Poplar, Willow, Apple, Almonds, Walnut, Sweet Chestnut and Hazel with plans to intercrop these with pumpkins and Christmas trees.
Lunch will be provided after the farm walk.
Please advise of any dietary or access requirements when booking.
Please bring appropriate clothing and footwear for the farm tour, some of which will be on foot over rough, uneven ground.
