Gateway to Translation (G2T) Webinar - December 2024
Developing your academic research insight into successful medical devices
Join us for this month's Gateway to Translation (G2T), the final webinar of 2024. Guest speaker, Alistair Williamson, MD at Lucid Innovation will deliver useful takeaways from 30 years experience of healthcare product innovation rooted in problems and opportunities spotted in research. The webinar will be chaired by Dr Ayodele Sasegsbon, a NIHR Clinical Lecturer and recent recipient of one of Translation Manchester's pump priming (Confidence for Translation / C4T) awards.
Case study examples will illustrate how:
- Fit to people’s needs, care pathways and reimbursement is crucial, new technology is not enough.
- Understanding regulation, design and manufacturing standards are critical to deciding whether to start a development.
- New medical devices can drive new research opportunities.
Alistair Williamson is Managing Director of Manchester Science Park based Lucid Innovation. In a decade working as a toy and game designer Alistair focussed on user experience and interaction design, concurrently qualifying as a Chartered Engineer and completing a part-time MBA. Co-founding Lucid in 2002, Alistair has built a team of specialists in the development of physical and digital products for highly regulated medical, security and safety markets.
