Waltz & Wine Dance Class - Intermediate

Fri Jan 16, 2026 6:00 PM - Fri Jan 30, 2026 7:00 PM CST Germanic-American Institute, 55102

Step deeper into the artistry and mechanics of waltz in this three-week series designed for intermediate and above level dancers. This technique-focused class explores both Slow Waltz and Viennese Waltz, highlighting the contrasts and connections between these two elegant styles. Led by Susanne Wagner, Russell Pylkki, and Grace Jungers, the class is intended for dancers with prior waltz experience who are seeking greater versatility, confidence and refinement across European waltz styles.

Dancers will work to build technical clarity, control, and confidence across both styles and is intended for elevating overall waltz quality, rather than introducing beginner level choreography. By the end of the series, dancers will have a stronger technical foundation and greater confidence applying these skills on the social dance floor, perfect preparation for really showing off at Karneval Tanzparty on February 7.

Registration includes all three class sessions (Fridays, January 16, 23, and 30), plus a complimentary beverage each night.

No partner? No problem. Dancers are welcome to attend solo.

Looking for a refresher or unable to commit to all three weeks? A single-class option is available for the first session on January 16 ($20), though dancers will benefit most from attending the full series.

Interested in putting your newfound skills to the test - stick around for the intro level class beginning at 7:15 pm and put what you learn to practice right away. Tickets for Intermediate class attendees are only $15 for the three-week series.

NOTE: class will take place in the GAI Ballroom; not ADA accessible.
