NEW Still Life - Oil Painting Course

I'm delighted to be launching my first oil painting course with classes to be held from 9am to 2pm on:

• 22nd August
• 12th September 
• 3rd October 

The classes will be held in my studio with a maximum of just four participants.

This small group format allows plenty of individual attention, with tuition tailored to your experience, interests and personal goals. Whether you're completely new to oils or looking to develop your existing skills, you'll be encouraged to build confidence and discover your own approach to painting rather than simply copying someone else's style.

During the day, you'll learn the foundations of working with oils, including colour mixing, composition, brush handling, paint application and how to create depth, atmosphere and light in your paintings. You'll also gain an introduction to Michael Harding's non-toxic painting mediums and 
the “fat over lean” principle which is crucial in oil painting. This helps to prevent cracking and ensures the paint adheres properly. By the end of the workshop, you'll have completed a still life oil painting and developed practical techniques that you can continue using in your own work.

The painting course will include:

• ⁠Individual tuition throughout the day
• Demonstrations and practical exercises
• Guidance on colour mixing and composition
• Introduction to non-toxic oil painting materials
• A freshly prepared lunch delivered to the studio

Course fee: £375

For those travelling from further afield, accommodation options can also be arranged.

Please arrive 5 minutes before the class start time.

Please note that Gail Davis - The Art Studio will not be held responsible for any belongings/clothes damaged during class, you attend at your own paint covered risk.

Materials outside of the canvas building class are not included. A material list will be emailed to you shortly.

Cancellation policy - A full refund will be issued if the cancellation is made three or more days before the class date. If two or less days notice is given, a 50% refund of the fee will be given.

* IMPORTANT NOTICE - Please note that we reserve the right to cancel any workshop if the minimum numbers are not met. If we are unable to run the class you will be informed two working days ahead of the course start date.
