en I Following a tragic fire at the Colectiv Club, Bucharest, on 30 October 2015, more and more victims treated in hospitals ended up dying from injuries that were not supposed to be lethal. A team of investigative journalists took action to expose the massive corruption of the national health system and other public institutions. By following the journalists, whistleblowers and government officials involved, Collective casts an uncompromising eye on corruption and the price to pay for the truth.

fr I À la suite d’un tragique incendie au Colectiv Club, discothèque de Bucarest le 30 octobre 2015, de plus en plus de victimes commencent à mourir dans les hôpitaux des suites de blessures qui ne mettent pas leur vie en danger. Une équipe de journalistes d’investigation passe à l’action afin de dénoncer la corruption massive du système de santé national et d’autres institutions publiques. nl I Op 30 oktober 2015 brak er in nachtclub Colectiv in Boekarest een grote brand uit. Het werd een van de grootste rampen uit de recente Roemeense geschiedenis, met aanvankelijk 27 doden en 180 gewonden. Binnen enkele dagen braken felle protesten uit, die leidden tot het aftreden van de sociaaldemocratische regering. Regisseur Alexander Nanau volgt een aantal hoofdrolspelers in de nasleep van de ramp, vanaf het moment waarop bekend wordt dat 37 van de gewonden zijn gestorven aan bacteriële infecties in lokale ziekenhuizen.

Lux Audience Award, vote for your favourite film!

Over the last few weeks, the three nominated titles of the 2021 LUX Audience Award, presented by the European Parliament and the European Film Academy, have been travelling across Europe under the umbrella of the LUX Film Days. Another Round [+] by Thomas Vinterberg, Collective [+] by Alexander Nanau and Corpus Christi [+] by Jan Komasa have been screened in multiple European countries at different online and physical events, some of them organized in collaboration with the European Parliament Liaison Offices.

Until 23 May, the European public can vote for their favourite films by ranking them on a scale from one to five stars, representing 50 per cent of the total vote. The other half will come from the votes cast by the Members of the European Parliament. Vote before 23 May 2021 on www.luxaward.eu.
