We warmly invite you to join researchers, policymakers, practitioners, community partners and local organisations for the GALLANT Gathering 2026, taking place at the University of Glasgow's Advanced Research Centre from Monday the 9th to Wednesday the 11th of November 2026.
Over three days, we will come together to celebrate the achievements of the GALLANT programme, share evidence and learning from across the partnership, and explore the opportunities, collaborations and legacy that will continue beyond the programme's conclusion.
Through interdisciplinary, place-based research, GALLANT has been working with Glasgow City Council and partners across the city to establish Glasgow as a living lab for urban sustainability. The programme has collaboratively developed, tested and shared practical, whole-system approaches to address climate change, support biodiversity recovery, and create more sustainable places for people and nature.
The Gathering offers an opportunity to reflect on this journey, share insights and lessons learned, and explore how this work can contribute to building climate resilience, from Glasgow to the globe.
Attendees can look forward to:
• Thought-provoking plenary talks and panel discussions
• Interactive workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions
• Research presentations and poster displays
• Opportunities to connect with colleagues and partners across multiple sectors
Tickets are free, and attendees are welcome to join for one day, two days or all three days of the event.

An Evening with Kate Raworth
On Tuesday 10th November, from 17:30-19:30, the Advanced Research Centre will also be hosting a lecture from Kate Raworth, followed by a Drinks Reception. Kate is the author of the international best-seller Doughnut Economics: seven ways to think like a 21st century economist; co-founder and Chair of DEAL (Doughnut Economics Action Lab); and a senior teaching fellow at Oxford University's Environmental Change Institute. Doughnut Economics sits at the core of GALLANT's approach, and this is a fantastic opportunity to hear directly from Kate, whose pioneering work has inspired new ways of thinking about how our planet and its people can thrive.
