Megan Bee with Stripmall Ballads
Join us at Gallery Stage for an unforgettable evening with Megan Bee, a singer-songwriter whose music embodies wanderlust, storytelling, and a deep reverence for the land.
Megan’s 2022 album Cottonwood was hailed as "as real as it gets," making Best of 2022 lists in Americana UK and No Depression Magazine, with praise from American Songwriter and IAMA. Her previous album Waiting (2020) earned The Ark of Music's Album of the Year Award, while past albums have won The Ohio Music Awards for Best Americana & Best Singer-Songwriter Albums and made her a USA Songwriting Competition finalist.
Her music blends homespun vocals, acoustic simplicity, and winsome storytelling, weaving in imagery from nature and her years as an environmental educator, traveling farmhand, and vagabond. Megan’s live shows are a warm, engaging mix of personal stories, road adventures, nature musings, and light-hearted humor.
Based in the rolling hills of Athens, Ohio, Megan's songs reflect the meeting of Appalachian folk traditions and modern songwriting. She has toured the country for over a decade, performing in coffeehouses, festivals, house concerts, and theaters—all from her trusty Dodge minivan.
Sharing the evening is Stripmall Ballads, the raw and spellbinding project of Phillips Saylor Wisor. His music roams the haunted backroads of America, weaving ballads of rustbelt towns, forgotten places, and spectral memories into timeless folk. With roots in Appalachian traditions and a voice shaped by decades of gritty storytelling, Wisor delivers songs that ache with beauty and truth. Together, Megan Bee and Stripmall Ballads create an unforgettable night of song—an evening where landscapes, lives, and stories collide in the intimate listening room of Gallery Stage.
Don’t miss the chance to experience Megan Bee’s soulful and adventurous sound in the intimate setting of Gallery Stage!
