Formed in 1999 in Charlottesville, Virginia, the Hackensaw Boys are roots music innovators known for their high-energy performances and unique "charismo" percussion instrument. Their sound blends traditional bluegrass with indie rock and folk-punk elements. The current lineup includes David Sickmen (guitar/vocals), Caleb Powers (fiddle), Taylor Shuck (banjo), Thomas Olivier (mandolin), Aaron Smith (bass), and Bee Roberts (percussion).
