Spend your Saturday evening at Galway Uke Fest with a lineup that highlights Irish songwriting and musical craft.
Charlie McGettigan & The Henry Girls
Charlie McGettigan brings his unmistakable voice and storytelling to the stage, with a set shaped by folk and traditional influences. Known for his Eurovision success and long career in music, he’s also a familiar face in the ukulele world, often incorporating the instrument into his performances.
His use of the ukulele adds a light, intimate feel to his songs, whether he’s revisiting traditional material or sharing original work. It’s a relaxed, engaging set that draws the audience in without fuss.
Joining him are The Henry Girls – sisters Karen, Lorna and Joleen McLaughlin from Donegal. Their sound centres around close three-part harmonies, supported by a mix of instruments including harp, fiddle, accordion, ukulele, piano, tin whistle and mandolin.
Their music is grounded in Irish tradition but shaped by wider influences, creating a sound that feels both familiar and distinctive. There’s a quiet confidence to their performance style, with arrangements that are carefully crafted and genuinely moving.
This is a Saturday night that reflects what Galway Uke Fest does best: bringing great artists together in a setting that lets the music speak for itself.
