We are excited to announce that we are holding a basketball Camp and a Coaching Clinic during October half-term, led by London Lions Academy's "Head of Methodology", Coach Alex Sarama.

The players' Camp will cover several aspects of the game through decision making drills and small-sided games using Sarama's very own approach that is based on eye-opening concepts like Ecological Dynamics (ED) and Constraints Led Approach (CLA). You will be able to learn, compete and improve your individual skills in a game-specific environment like you've never experienced before. The Coaching Clinic will focus on Conceptual Offense & Defense for youth basketball. Get to learn how to apply both the ED & CLA concepts (see above) as well as "Differential Learning" to your training in order to accomplish better and faster results with your players and teams. Alex Sarama will share his extensive curriculum fruit of years of study, research and on-court application during the past decade.

COACHES OPTIONS: 

OPTION #1: SIDELINE PASS OCT 26rd+27th (10am-2pm) - Get a first-hand experience during the players Camp with a courtside seat and get to witness the whole event delivered to players by Coach Sarama & Augenti.

OPTION #2: COACHING CLINIC OCT 25th (1-5pm) - Learn Sarama's very own Conceptual Offense & Defense, with on court demonstration, film study & a Question & Answer session.

ABOUT ALEX SARAMA:

Alex Sarama is one of the most innovative basketball minds around and his work has been adopted by coaches all over the world and he has delivered coaching clinics and camps in over 35 countries. This has included running clinics for the German, Swedish, Czech and English Basketball Federations, as well as NBA Europe and NBA India. In 2021, through Basketball Immersion he released the BDT Offense, the world’s first resource to help coaches develop their own conceptual offense from scratch using the CLA (Constraints Led Approach).

His global career started with NBA Europe in Madrid, where he delivered both player and coaching clinics throughout the EMEA region. Alex worked with a number of major stakeholders including Federations, Charitable Foundations and NBA players themselves to grow the game. Sarama worked on the Jr. NBA and Basketball without Borders programs, in addition to coaching at numerous NBA Player Camps.
He then moved to Belgium, as Technical Director of "Elite Academy", Alex wrote curriculums, developed the coaching staff, reviewed practice plans, led internal clinics and travelled internationally to deliver camps and coaching clinics. In June 2020 Alex’s new chapter started with Basketball immersion, teaming up with Chris Oliver to realize the vision of sharing the game and helping coaches and players benefit from evidence-informed ideas.

In 2020 he embraced a new journey in Italy where he has led a Prep-Team that competed in the EYBL Tournament achieving great results with rarely seen around concepts inspired by "Ecologic Dynamics & Constraints Led Approach". While in Italy he was also Player Improvement Specialist for Paris Basketball in the EuroCup.

After a very successful experience in Italy granting several scholarship to many players, Alex has now taken the lead of the newly established London Lions Youth Academy with the role of "Head of Methodology" and we are more than sure that he will shape the future of UK's basketball for the years to come and we couldn't be more excited.

ABOUT COACH GENNARO AUGENTI:

Coach Gennaro Augenti, has played professionally overseas and before starting his own training brand "G.A. Performance Basketball", he was one of the first "PURESWEAT" certified skills Coach in Europe (the leading brand among the skills enhancement industry in the USA) and has worked alongside and received mentorship by TOP NBA trainer Drew Hanlen!

Coach G has helped 1000s of players perfecting their craft, including NCAA D1/D2 players (both boys & girls) as well as Pros such as the 2x BBL MVP Justin Robinson currently playing for the Surrey Scorchers, and the 2022 NBA first draft pick Jeremy Sochan - currently playing for the San Antonio Spurs (check his Instagram @coachgbball to find out more).

Since he has moved to London in 2016, he has hosted a number of prestigious events that have seen the presence of Top NBA Trainers and Coaches, providing valuable opportunities to many UK hoopers. 

On top of that in 2022 on his first season as Head Coach in the UK, Coach G has led his team (Richmond Knights U14B NBL PREMIER) to the victory of the Final Fours held in Manchester, bringing the first ever gold medal to the London based Club.

Finally, this past summer Coach Augenti has worked for the "Armani Olimpia Milan" (the most successful professional Club in Italy) sharing his guidance to some of the best Italian youth prospects!
