A Beginner’s Introduction to Japanese Flower Arranging. Discover the art of Ikebana, the traditional Japanese practice of flower arranging, in the tranquil setting of our beautiful Brighton garden. This beginner-friendly workshop offers a gentle introduction to the principles of balance, harmony, and mindfulness that make Ikebana a unique and inspiring art form.
Your teacher will be experienced florist Khin Chong of The Flower Factory – an independent, seasonally inspired floral studio and floristry school located in the heart of Shoreditch, East London www.theflowerfactorylondon.com
Surrounded by seasonal blooms and natural greenery, and guided by Khin, you’ll learn the fundamentals of Ikebana design, including line, space, proportion, and the thoughtful placement of plant materials. Guided step-by-step, you’ll create your own arrangement using fresh flowers and foliage gathered from the garden and locally sourced materials.
No previous experience is required. Whether you’re a flower enthusiast, creative beginner, or simply looking for a relaxing outdoor experience, this class provides an opportunity to slow down, connect with nature, and explore a centuries-old artistic tradition.
All materials are provided. Participants will take home their completed arrangement and a deeper appreciation for the beauty of simplicity in nature.
