Single Class: Clay Your Way is an informal 2-hour clay class for potters of all levels. Experiment with various hand-building, wheel-throwing, or decorating techniques, guided by an experienced artist-instructor in a professional ceramics studio. Instruction is provided at the beginner level.

This class is open to ages 14+. Each participant under 18 is required to be accompanied by an adult with a ticket.

This class includes access to earthenware clay, pottery tools, commercial brushing glazes, and one firing of one finished piece. Extra firings are $10 per piece, per firing.

Before You Book:

  • Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable, for any reason. We are a small team and cannot accommodate refund or transfer requests. Please doublecheck the date before purchasing.
  • The pottery wheel can pose a serious risk to people with pacemakers. Please talk to your doctor before booking a wheel ticket.Only works from a previous Single Class can be glazed in this class
  • To glaze your piece made in this class, just book a glazing ticket in the appropriate Single class within two months of this class. Glazing happens after the first firing, so it's a two-visit process
  • By signing up, you agree to follow the Museum's Code of Conduct and Studio Policy.

On Class Day:

  • Arrive on time! A wheel-throwing demonstration takes place 5 minutes after the start of the class
  • Bring photo ID. Ticketholders, including Students and Gardiner Friends, may be asked to produce ID at check-in
