Meet the Winemaker

An evening at Gatcombe, seen through the eyes of the person who makes the wine.

Join us this winter for a private guided walk through the vines, followed by a tutored tasting with our winemaker, Akshay Baboo. The evening begins outdoors - through the vineyard blocks and a glimpse inside the winery itself - before moving into the comfort of Gatcombe House for a tailored talk and tasting.

You’ll taste Gatcombe’s debut vintage: Cuvée de l’Espérance - our Pinot Noir - and the Rosé de Saignée, alongside a wine from the LVMH portfolio, where Akshay worked as assistant winemaker. Formerly of Dom Pérignon and Château d’Yquem, he brings that pedigree to bear on what makes Gatcombe’s own ground suited to age-worthy Pinot Noir - and to other expressions of premium winemaking besides.

A rare chance to taste a founding vintage alongside the wines that shaped the hand that made it.
