Tread For Trees & Timber
Gaze Burvill is thrilled to be hosting another 'Tread for Trees & Timber' event in aid of Woodland Heritage at Lodge Farm on Friday 19 June.
Lodge Farm is Gaze Burvill's Hampshire HQ and is nestled in the beautiful South Downs countryside and a 10km trail has been devised for a walk, starting and finishing at Lodge Farm, taking in the abundant natural beauty in the local area on the way, all the while raising funds and awareness for Woodland Heritage. We will be offering refreshments and cake after the event in our Courtyard Garden at Lodge Farm.
The event is open to villagers of East Tisted, Newton Valence, Farringdon and Selborne and as well as friends, family, supporters and Woodland Heritage members.
Gaze Burvill is also hosting and open workshop in the morning in collaboration with Woodland Heritage, so why not make a day of it and join us for a workshop tour from 10.30 - 12.30. Tickets and more information available here.
Fundraising
Participation in the event is free, but we do ask that participants help us to achieve our fundraising target of £2,000 with a suggested donation of £20 via our Just Giving Page: https://www.justgiving.com/page/gaze-burvill and Gaze Burvill will match the first £1,000 raised!
Alternatively, if you feel in the mood to fundraise, please consider setting up your own JustGiving page and asking for sponsorship. Simply click this link, sign up and set your own fundraising target.
All donations will help Woodland Heritage to work towards its vision of ‘A UK more self-sufficient in timber grown in healthy, well-managed woodlands that benefit people and wildlife.’
Route
The route is shown on the maps below. There will be arrows pointing you in the right direction at critical points, so it should be easy to follow.
About Woodland Heritage
We all use wood, but we do not all grow trees!
Woodland Heritage are helping to protect our British woodlands by creating a thriving UK wood culture that benefits our environment, all people and our economy. They are doing this by championing the good use of home-grown timber from sustainable, productive woodlands for the benefit of present and future generations. Through a combination of demonstration sites, research, education, membership and outreach, they are building on the wisdom and skills of the past to weather the challenges of tomorrow.
Grow trees. Use wood. For our future.
